About

Andrew has been making music publicly for almost 40 years now. It all started when a friend who had piano lessons came to visit and played a song.
Although little Andrew had never looked at his parents’ piano before, he was able to play the song directly within a few hours.
That was the start of music at the age of 8. After several years of piano lessons in the youth music school, he switched to the Hammond organ, which was popular at the time
and at 15, Andrew began performing in public.
In the decades that have now passed, some music groups and bands as well as a wide variety of styles have been passed through.
This ranged from light music to hits and folk music and finally ended with various pop and rock bands where he worked as a keyboardist.

After a musical break, he worked as a developer for music electronics and sound engineers.
But as life goes, he just couldn’t stop looking for a new musical task.
After visiting a relative in Texas, he finally discovered and fell in love with country music.

But does a keyboardist fit into a country band?
It just doesn’t look authentic when you’re singing songs by Johnny Cash and other country stars and standing behind a keyboard.
So, without further ado, a western guitar was purchased and intensively rehearsed.

After just 3 months, Andrew was able to complete his first performance with two other musicians. Unfortunately, as with all musicians and artists, the further start was completely slowed down by the pandemic, which we all know.

But Andrew wouldn’t be himself if, after more than a thousand performances in 40 years, he let himself be disturbed.

Once infected with the C-virus, and that doesn’t mean the virus from the pandemic, he goes his musical way single-mindedly and undeterred with the songs that most of us have come to know and love.

Beginning with the songs of the well-known country stars like Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, Willie Nelson up to the No.1 hits from the States with the interpreters who are less known to us,
Andrew’s program extends to hits from the areas of rockabilly, oldies and evergreens by e.g. Carl Percins, Elvis, CCR, Neil Diamond or Luis Armstrong, just to name a few.

A colorful mix of great songs from the last 60 years with catchy melodies that invite you to sing and dance along.
Sometimes with rhythm & drive, or sometimes very calm and relaxed to groove along with the lighter at a slow beat at the late hour.

It doesn’t matter if you want to book Andrew for smaller performances as a soloist or if he brings along some of his “friends”,
“Andrew Lee & Friends” offers the right cast for your event size thanks to the pool of different musicians and singers.
